Kids Church logoOur vision is:
to enable St. Luke’s youth and children to develop their own Christian faith and relationship with God. Building their confidence to express their giftings and deal with the challenges that life brings by making our groups fun places that celebrate family, friendships and create a sense of belonging.

Our areas of focus are:

  • to make our groups an attractive place to come where we have fun, do interesting and varied activities
  • to establish a sense of community around families
  • learning about the Bible and how to navigate it
  • introducing our children to prayer and worship
  • enable children to build friendships with their peers

Sunday services – 10.30am
All the children worship with their families and the rest of the church congregation for the first part of the main service, usually leaving to go to their groups at about 10.45 am. The groups, and service, are planned to finish at about 12 pm.

There is a children’s area at the back of the church- please feel free to use it at any points. You will also find flags and musical instruments at the front – please do encourage your children to join us in worship with these.

St. Luke’s Crèche
For children aged between birth and 3-4 years old. When the children leave the service, please go through the main hall and follow the signs. There are plenty of toys and a Bible story to join in with. Additionally, parents with new babies can also make use of the seating area in the church foyer, where the service is relayed on a TV monitor and can also be seen through the large window.

St. Luke’s Kidz
For children aged between 3-4 and 11 years (school year 6). We meet together for stories, craft, fun games and activities helping us to learn more about God, the Bible and what it means to be friends with Jesus. We use the Urban Saints ‘Energize’ materials. Please do speak with a children’s team member, identifiable by their badges (bright green lanyard), should you have any questions.

Kidz-In services (Third Sunday of each month)
Aimed at getting all of God’s family here at St. Luke’s worshipping together, the service is designed for children, for you, for your friends, and Grandma and Grandad too! The service is fast paced, creative, with flag waving and there are no worries about children making lots of noise (God made them that way) and often in a café style where great tea, coffee and good cakes are served as an integral part of the service. We try to squeeze it all into an hour too!

Cafe n Tots logoCafé ‘n’ Tots
The group meets three times a week during term time from 9.30am – 11.30am on a Monday and Thursday and also 1.30 – 3.30pm on a Monday. Café n Tots provides a space for pre-school children to play with a range of toys including a play house, bikes, trampolines, table top toys and activities whilst carers can meet and enjoy refreshments including cake. Snacks are also provided for the children.

The three sessions are open to all with Monday morning being the busiest group whilst Monday afternoon is much quieter.

A donation of £1 is taken towards covering costs and any excess is donated to Demelza House Children’s Hospice. We look forward to welcoming you.

PhotographerPhotography / Media Policy
As a church congregation St. Luke’s members respect each other’s privacy, so although photos / videos are sometimes taken on special personal or Church Family occasions (e.g. Christenings, Weddings, Gatherings etc.), by individuals or by ‘the Church’, we like to know that the people we are photographing don’t object.

Obviously the publication of individual’s photos / videos in print or on the Internet needs the verbal consent of those photographed. As a Church we may sometimes add photos / videos to the Church website.

For this reason Parents / Carers are annually requested to consent to the taking and potential publication of anonymous photos / videos related to children’s group activities.

However, if any person (adult or child) finds themselves the subject of a group or personal photo / video which they would rather not be part of, they need only to make their preferences known to the photographer, who will respect their choice to withdraw from the group or to cancel the shot and delete the photo / video.
